Controls

Most customers of CSi are producing in two or more shifts. The CSi objective is to offer our customers maximum system availability. In order to achieve this, CSi developed their own standard control system package.

This CSi standard control package consist of:

• High quality commercial available components
• SEW motor modules (Movimot and Moviswitch)
• Profibus system
• Pilz safety system
• Industrial PC

If required, CSi can deviate from their standards to follow the electrical specifications of the customer.

High quality commercially available components:

• Sick photocells and barcode readers
• Rittal Panels
• Siemens switchgear
• Pilz safety switches

SEW Motor modules

Movimots for frequency controlled material handling and in addition all data available via Profibus, like thermal overload and locked isolator switches. The lockable isolator switches required for safety and maintenance.

Profibus system

Cabling for reducing cabling and ducting; still all data available at the control unit.

Pilz safety PLC

By dividing a system in logical safety areas, a particular area of the system can be isolated for safe error recovery. The remainder of the system can still transport and buffer products in order to generate maximum system availability.

Industrial PC
The IPC is used for:

• System control 
• System visualisation using Intelliware®
• Storage for online manuals and documentation

Intelliware®: an in-house developed software suite tailored to the needs of fast moving material handling, data tracking, fault finding and recovery.

Electrical Specifications by the customer

Some clients prefer CSi to deliver in accordance with their electrical specification. The reason is that the maintenance crew is familiar with the controls setup and has knowledge of the electrical components used. Furthermore the variety of required electrical spare parts will be limited.

Therefore the controls for the engineered logistic solution can be subject to strict customer specifications for:

• PLC equipment
• System cabling
• Software modules
• Scada systems
