The CSi Slipchain system can load and unload a diverse range of pallets and load types due to the close roller-to-roller pitch at the trailer interface. The Slipchain dock will marshal a complete pallet load prior to the arrival of the distribution vehicle. Once docked the trailer can be loaded in 90 seconds. The Slipchain easily interfaces with other pallet handling systems such as roller and chain conveyors, AGV’s and shuttle cars and can be easily fitted to new or existing vehicles.
Characteristics
- Power supply from the trailer or the dock.
- No forklift trucks required in the trailer anymore.
- Easy to install in (existing) trailers.
- While driving the load is on the trailer floor and not the conveyor.
- Limitation in handling a large pallet weight variation.
Execution
The Slipchain conveyors consist of one central chain track and two roller tracks to convey each row of pallets. This conveyor will be mounted on the dock as well as in the trailer. During conveying the chain track will be lifted towards the pallet by means of an inflatable air hose mounted under the roller track, which generates sufficient friction to convey the pallets. Because some slip between pallet and chain is allowed the pallet load will always be positioned as one solid block into the trailer.
Application
The best value for money solution for a frequent shuttle service between 2 points. Shuttle service on a large site from production to storage or a shuttle service from production plant to a third party distributor on the same industrial estate.
